A tiger cub that was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace has been rescued and is going to be going to her permanent home soon here in Minnesota! I'm so glad that there's a happy ending to this story.

Tiger Cub Listed for Sale on Facebook

There was a guy in Arizona who listed this tiger cub named Indy for sale on Facebook earlier this year. His asking price for her was $25,000! According to KARE 11, thankfully, cops were able to intervene. He "attempted to sell the cub to undercover officers" which was when the guy was arrested.

Indy and other exotic animals that this guy was keeping and planned to sell were then seized by police.

Pheonix police brought Indy to the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center in Scottsdale. Here's how Minnesota ends up getting involved.

Tiger Cub Coming to Live in Minnesota

The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center reached out to the Minnesota Wildcat Sanctuary, which is located in Sandstone, a little over an hour from the cities. They were contacted to help advise on the care of Indy and eventually the Wildcat Sanctuary was asked to take Indy as a permanent resident.

So Indy is going to be making her permanent home here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes!

Minnesota Wildcat Sanctuary

The Wildcat Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that helps wild cats in need. Since they're a non-profit, they're looking for donations to help with the transportation of Indy from Arizona to Minnesota and also future medical and day-to-day costs for her. So if you're interested, more information can be found on their website.
