Sturgis Rally to Get New Director

The 75th will be the last ride for the director of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Brenda Vasknetz says she plans on exploring new options after working for 27 years with the city, the last seven as director of the annual rally.

City Manager Daniel Ainslie says Vasknetz has done an admirable job working through the challenges that the rally presents while acting as the director.

The Sturgis Motorcycle rally just finished celebrating its 75th anniversary this summer.

Vasknetz last day with the city will be October, 12.

The city of Sturgis will begin the search for a new rally director in the coming weeks.
