The Best Places to Find Love in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota
Being alone can be challenging for a lot of us, but not having someone there during the holidays can be especially tough.
If you're looking to find that special person in the Tri-State Area, you're in luck.
Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota have combined for five cities in the top 50 of a new survey of the best places to find love in America.
WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities across three dozen indicators of dating-friendliness. They then ranked the cities in three key categories:
- Economics - Income; Unemployment rate; Cost of food, drinks, movies, taxis
- Fun and Recreation - COVID vaccination rate, number of attractions, restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping centers per capita, wellness and fitness centers per capita
- Dating Opportunities - Share of single population, singles gender balance, online dating opportunities
Minneapolis is number-six overall.
Minnesota's largest city scored best in dating opportunities (5th in America).
South Dakota's best city for finding love is Rapid City.
The Mount Rushmore State's second-largest city was 16th overall thanks to a number-three ranking in economics and the second-lowest beauty salon costs in America.
St. Paul is 37th on the list. Cedar Rapids is 41st, thanks in part to the second-lowest average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the U.S.
The last Tri-State city in the top 50 is Sioux Falls.
