"When it's all said and done, I want the Pumpkins standing on the top of the heap of our generation," bandleader said.

The FBI even had to get involved.

Alanis Morissette also paid tribute to the late singer, who died earlier this month.

'People say, 'Oh, you were so angry.' No. I was in complete control of my emotions. I was playing the character of a very angry person.'

Billy Corgan has taken responsibility for the demise of the Smashing Pumpkins in 2000.

Not only will Smashing Pumpkins fans get a reunion tour this year, but it sounds like a new LP is on the way too.
