Swedish Soccer Player Gets Thrown Out Over a Fart
Just when we thought we've seen it all when it comes to sports, a Swedish soccer player managed to get himself thrown out of a game for his natural body reaction.
A red card was handed down to Adam Lindin Ljungkvist after he "simply let it go" according to the Guardian. Ljungkvist told the paper that he had a bad stomach and was informed that letting a fart go isn't allowed.
“I asked the referee, ‘What, am I not allowed to break wind a little?’ ‘No,’ he replied … I don’t get it but maybe he thought I farted in my hand and threw the fart at him. But I did not.” - Ljungkvist to the Guardian
Apparently the referees considered the fart as unsportsmanlike conduct and issued another yellow card (he previously had one other) that turned into a red card.
