Rally History
The Rally started in 1938 when motorcycle dealer Clarence "Pappy" Hoel organized the "Black Hills Motor Classic" to do stunts and races near Sturgis.
Except for a break during WW2, the Rally has grown to a huge annual event that includes concerts, vendors, and all types of motorcycles.
