Speed to Prevail at Sioux Falls Fundraiser for for New Americans
Race like kids again with Hot Wheel cars for a worthy cause. The Dakota Region Porsche Club hosts a fundraising event Saturday night in Sioux Falls.
The event is called the 2.4 Hours of Dakota and the money raised will benefit a program through Lutheran Social Services to help new Americans learn how to maintain and manage automobiles. John Mollison with the Porsche Club extends the invitation.
“On Saturday, we’re having our Hot Wheel races. The public’s invited. You just have to register online at 24dakota.com or if you show up with $20 you can race. It’s our second year of doing it and last year we raised a pile of money and it was a riot.”
Cars will hurtle down a six lane track and the fastest car in the heat will advance until one winner is crowned as winner of the Porsche Cup.
Hy-Vee at 26th and Sycamore will host the event (February 25, 2017) with prizes donated by a wide range of groups. All ages are welcome with registration beginning at 5:00PM and the racing starts at 6:15PM.
