Southern MN Police Officer Injured in Alcohol Involved Crash

St. James, MN (KROC-AM News) - A southern Minnesota law enforcement was injured late Friday night in an alcohol-involved crash.
A news release from the St. James Police Department says Officer Brad Nestegard was providing assistance to a citizen when a pickup crashed head-on into his squad car. The St. James man driving the pickup and the police officer were both transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in St. James with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash occurred just before midnight. Officials say alcohol was a factor and criminal charges are expected to be filed following the completion of an investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
