South Dakota Tourism Campaign Earns International Platinum Award
A tourism campaign aimed at getting more people to visit South Dakota has been singled out as a platinum award winner at an international competition.
Travel South Dakota’s Go Great Places, already a three-time Adrian Award winner back in November 2022, has been elevated to platinum status after an additional round of judging by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.
It beat out more than 600 other entries for the honor, making it eligible for the Best in Show award.

The Go Great Places campaign was focused on South Dakota’s wide-open spaces and outdoor attractions.
According to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Tourism, the campaign led to 13.5 million visitors in 2021, garnered more than 4 million impressions, and saw a return on investment of $52:$1.
The campaign was developed in partnership with Lawrence & Schiller of Sioux Falls, MMGY Global of Kansas City, Missouri, and Miles Partnership of Denver, Colorado.
