
Sobriety Checkpoints Returning To South Dakota in August
Law enforcement officials in South Dakota have announced the latest locations for sobriety checkpoints around the state.
How Many Checkpoints Will There Be?
After setting up sobriety checkpoints in 17 counties in July, the Department of Public Safety is conducting checkpoints in 13 locations during the month of August.
In a press release, the DPS outlined the counties impacted:

- Brule County
- Codington County
- Davison County
- Day County
- Hughes County
- Lawrence County
- Lincoln County
- Minnehaha County
- Moody County
- Pennington County
- Yankton County

As is typical with these announcements, the exact dates, times, and locations of each checkpoint are not being disclosed. The monthly checkpoints are funded by the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety and conducted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol with the help of local law enforcement.
