
Man Convicted Of Aggravated Assault Set For Release From State Prison In September 2026
Local authorities are preparing Sioux Falls residents for the upcoming release of a violent offender from the South Dakota Penitentiary.
The South Dakota Department of Corrections is notifying law enforcement and the public about the pending release of state prison offender Anthony Salinas.

Salinas, age 62, will be released from prison on September 18, 2026, after serving the entirety of his 12-year sentence for aggravated assault out of Minnehaha County.
Because he served his entire sentence, Salinas must be released and will not be on parole supervision.

Salinas is being released to Sioux Falls. He is Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
This notification is in addition to the letters currently sent to law enforcement and notices provided to the Division of Criminal Investigation each month. Since 2011, the Department of Corrections has issued a total of 23 public notices of pending high-risk offender releases.
