If you paid too much for your medications, you may have some money heading your way.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has announced that consumers in the state may be eligible for compensation for certain generic drug purchases after a court ruled that some manufacturing companies illegally conspired to raise the prices of generic medications

Recently, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut granted preliminary approval to a plan to distribute settlement funds paid by generic drug manufacturers in exchange for settlement of claims that those companies illegally conspired to raise the prices of generic drugs.

South Dakota is part of a coalition of 44 states that have engaged in a series of antitrust cases against drug companies since 2016. Settlements already announced have totaled $96.5 million.
