2025 continues to be a good year for South Dakota beer.

Bringing home the gold

At the just-completed Great American Beer Festival in Denver, more than 400 medals were awarded in more than 100 categories, and a brewer is heading back to the Mount Rushmore state with a gold medal in hand.

Dakota Point Brewing in Rapid City captured top honors in the Irish Style Red Ale category with their O'Quinn's Irish Red. The beer has an alcohol content of 5.7% and is described as 'a Rich Crimson brew with aromas of toasted caramel and fresh bread. Light toffee and biscuit notes.'

This is the second medal of the year for Dakota Point.

Their Tangerine Heat took home bronze medal honors in the Chili Beer Category at April's 2025 World Beer Cup in Philadelphia.
