The Sioux Falls Storm won their thirteenth game against the Colorado Crush on Saturday, June 4th in a 72-59 battle.

Sioux Falls would start strong after Korey Williams ran in back-to-back touchdowns, one eight-yard and the other a three-yard, to give the Storm an early 14-0 lead. Colorado would score after a five-yard run into the endzone by Damien Fleming to bring the score to 14-7. It wouldn’t take long for the Storm to score again after a botched kickoff by the Crush would allow Korey Williams to run in a 16-yard touchdown, ending the quarter with the Storm leading 21-7.

Damien Fleming of the Crush would score first in the second quarter when he would run in a three-yard touchdown, to make the score 21-14. Korey Williams would score again after a one-yard run into the endozone, advancing the Storm lead to 28-14. Colorado would score after Josh Ford ran in a seven-yard touchdown, bringing the score to 28-21. Lorenzo Brown scored for the first time of the night after a seven-yard running touchdown for a 35-21 Storm lead. Marcus Beaurem and Lorenzo Brown would connect after a 19-yard pass in the endzone to bring the score to 42-21. The Crush would answer with back-to-back touchdowns after Damien Fleming ran in a 1-yard touchdown and a nine-yard touchdown pass to Josh Ford, to bring the score to 42-39. With two seconds left on the clock, Lorenzo Brown and Caleb Holley would connect with a 39-yard pass, ending the half with a score of 49-39.

Colorado would score first in the second half when Josh Ford ran in a three-yard touchdown, cutting the Storm’s lead to 49-46. Brown and Williams would connect for the second time of the night with an 18-yard pass, and Korey Williams rushed 14-yards for back-to-back Storm touchdowns, ending the third quarter with a 63-46 Storm lead.

The Storm kept their momentum going in the fourth quarter when Korey Williams ran in a 14-yard touchdown to bring the score to 63-46. Colorado fired back when Damien Fleming and Demarius Washington would connect for a 28-yard touchdown, cutting the score to 69-52. Justin Syrovatka would kick a 35-yard field goal, ending the game at 72-53.

Lorenzo Brown finished with 141 yards and four touchdowns, along with 62 rushing yards and one touchdown. Korey Williams finished the game with 107 rushing yards and five touchdowns, as well as 26 receiving yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver, Caleb Holley, caught two passes for 60 yards, scoring two touchdowns. Marcus Beaurem caught two passes for 23 yards, scoring one touchdown. The Storm defense tailed 63 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and seven pass break-ups.

The Storm moves to 13-1 on the season while the Crush fall to 2-12. The Storm will be back in action on Saturday, May 11th at 7:05 pm (CT) when they face the Iowa Barnstormers (4-9) in a week 15 battle at the Storm Shelter.
