She decided to focus on something meaningful in the Sioux Falls community. Human trafficking.

Call to Freedom is a local organization that helps people that have been human trafficked. In a press release, "An average of 6 people every week walk through the doors of Call to Freedom in Sioux Falls. Up to 90% of survivors fall through the cracks. Either they return to “the life” (streets), end up in jail or prison, or simply disappear due to a lack of specialized long-term care for survivors."

That's when the idea for the MasqueradeCharity Ball fundraiser to benefit Call to Freedom was born.

The Masquerade Charity Ball will be on May 6 starting at 6:30 pm at the Blue Haven Barn.

Tickets are $75 for a single ticket with 100% of the proceeds going to Call to Freedom.

Formal attire is required for this event. Ballgowns, party dresses, suit coats, bow ties, and, of course, Masquerade Masks! If you don't have a mask, masks will be available to purchase at the event for $10.

The evening will include a special 'unmasking ceremony' that represents revealing the hidden world and crime of human trafficking.

The evening will also include a social hour, live entertainment from White Keys, live and silent auction, dancing, and hor 'd oeuvres and desserts from seven local and distinguished chefs!

The seven chefs include:

  • Chef Tyler - Catering by Cleavers
  • Chef Jesse - Barrel House
  • Chef Jason - Tony's Catering
  • Chef Dan - Crawfords
  • Chef Jason - Avera
  • Chef Ryan - Trail Ridge Senior Living
  • Chef April - Cakes and Confections

See Some of Sioux Falls' Beautiful Murals [PHOTOS]

I was in Canton, SD, and I happened upon a new mural.

It was really cool and that got me thinking that I know of a few murals in Sioux Falls, but I bet there's more than I realize. So, I put it out on social media for the people of Sioux Falls to tell me where all the murals are!

A few of them I had never seen, or never even been to that part of town, and a few of them, I drive by all the time and never noticed!

I know a few businesses have murals inside their establishments, but I decided to keep it to murals that are totally open for the public to see. No need to be 21!

So, here we go! Let's check out some of Sioux Falls' murals.
Did I miss one? Let me know!
