The Sioux Falls food truck scene will have one fewer option to choose from after this year.

Taverns & Tots made the announcement this week that their upcoming fifth season will be their last.

The truck got its start in the Summer of 2022, featuring a menu loaded with a variety of options of the Tavern Sandwich, a staple of Iowa cuisine since the 1920's.

The sandwiches, often confused with Sloppy Joe's, feature unseasoned ground beef cooked with sautéed onions, simmered until tender, and served on a steamed bun. It is typically drier than a Sloppy Joe, and is topped with pickles, yellow mustard, and sometimes American cheese.

Taverns & Tots has several different tavern-inspired options on their menu:

  • Classic
  • Deluxe
  • Red-Head (Sloppy Joe)
  • Pretzel & Cheese
  • Secret Spicy
  • Tavern Dog
  • Tavern Totchos
