Sioux Falls Braces For A Chilly Weekend Ahead
After dealing with a significant amount of snow each of the past two weekends, South Dakota is about to deal with a major cold snap this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Polar Vortex is bearing down on the region with large areas of frigid Arctic air.
The latest NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook calls for snow in the area on Thursday and Friday, with accumulations of up to three inches in Sioux Falls.

Sunday's wind chills will be even more brutal, forecasted to be -15 to -30.
There is some relief in sight, though, with highs next Tuesday (12/16) and Wednesday (12/17) expected to be in the mid-30s.
