Sioux Falls Police were called out to 12th and Le Mesa early Saturday morning for an accident with a possible assault with a gun.

The police report says two vehicles were swerving at each other for several blocks, ending when the lead vehicle slammed on his brakes, causing the other to rear end it. At least one shot was fired from the rear vehicle, through the windshield, lodging in the rear of the lead vehicle.

The lead vehicle had several people in it, but there were no injuries. The driver of the lead vehicle, 29-year old Matthew Weiss, was cited for reckless driving.

The driver of the rear vehicle, 23-year old Jessie Quarve, was cited for DWI, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
