Early performances by Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M, Squeeze and Henry Rollins are featured in the new DVD Best of Cutting Edge. The compilation of highlights and rare moments from the mid-1980s MTV series I.R.S. Records Presents The Cutting Edge hits stores October 16th.

Miles Copeland, who at one time ran I.R.S., will release the DVD via his current label, International Arts. Specific details other than the artist lineup haven't been released yet, and we can't say whether this is just a reissue of a pair of similar compilations previously released on VHS or an entirely new collection. Robyn Hitchcock, Tom Waits, Hüsker Dü, X, The Alarm and The Smithereens are also among the 17 acts on it.
