An album featuring the late guitarist Ronnie Montrose with a guest vocalist on each track will be released early next year.

More information will be forthcoming soon from Montrose's widow, Leighsa and the album's producer, Styx bassist Ricky Phillips. Leighsa would confirm that the album will be titled Ronnie Montrose and Friends and that Sammy Hagar is one of the singers. She also revealed that a couple of other singers who took part in A Concert For Ronnie Montrose –-A Celebration of His Life in Music in San Francisco less than two months after his March 2012 suicide, would be on the album.

Coincidentally, Hagar's most recent album is titled Sammy Hagar and Friends. Hagar, who was the lead singer of Montrose from 1973 through '75, reunited with the group's drummer, Denny Carmassi, and bassist, Bill Church, on a number of tracks on his album and has released two numbers recorded at the Ronnie Montrose tribute concert as bonus tracks. The show became available on DVD this September.
