The third season of the public television interview series Speakeasy is in progress, bringing with it a series of new conversations with acclaimed artists like Nick Lowe, Steve Earle, Gary Clark Jr. and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason — the latter of which can be seen here in an exclusive clip.

Fulfilling the show's mission statement of "[shedding] light on some iconic musicians and the inspiration that has brought them to where they are today," Mason's Speakeasy appearance finds him sitting down with host David Fricke to talk about a wide variety of subjects — including, according to a press release issued by the show, "the early days of the band, groupies and the legacy that he has helped create."

Speakeasy marks the first of multiple appearances Mason is scheduled to make on TV over the next few months. He's also set to appear on the upcoming second season of The Grand Tour, after filming an episode that found him facing off against Police co-founder Stewart Copeland to see who would earn, as Vulture put it, "the title of fastest rock drummer."

Host Jeremy Clarkson reflected on the rock vets' visit during an interview with the site, marveling that despite their relative professional proximity, the drummers never traveled in the same social circles. "Pink Floyd vs. the Police, American vs. Britain," quipped Clarkson. "They’d never met, so it was funny listening to those two talking. They’re both from massive groups and they’re both drummers, and they never met one another."
