We've been introduced to several new words and phrases over the past months. COVID-19. Coronavirus. Social distancing. And...

Quarantine fifteen.

The Quarantine fifteen is that 15 pounds you've put on since you've been working remotely at home. Apparently you've been snacking through your 'new' workday. Sitting there doing your job on our laptop and reaching over for those chips, chocolates, and whatever else might be on the counter or in the cupboard. And bingo, as if by magic, you've got a little more heft than you had.

Enter the dog food diet. The what??

The dog food diet. And no, I'm not kidding. There's a guy in Texas who swears by it (not at it). This fella owns a Milling company and ate nothing but dog food for thirty days. That's right, no coffee, no booze, no cheat meals, no nothing except...dog food.

Ahem. That, of course, begs the question: Why?

Well, you can read his story here for yourself and decide if this is a good idea or a bad idea. But during the 30 days, he says he shed 30 pounds, had a 70% drop in triglycerides, a 50% drop in cholesterol, and had less joint pain and inflammation.

So will this be a new 'fad diet'? You know, one that sweeps the nation?

That remains to be seen. In the meantime, could you belly up to a delicious can of Alpo? How about a bowl of Gravy Train while watching the ballgame...assuming there is a ballgame?

Me? I don't think so. I'll just stick with the Pringles and peanuts and hope for the best.
