It's becoming a sad reality for music fans everywhere.

As more and more iconic artists add more and more candles to their birthday cakes, the prospects of seeing them play live one more time is becoming increasingly difficult.

Take Paul Simon for instance.

Seven years ago, he embarked on a 'farewell tour', but thank goodness that didn't stick. Now the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is heading back on the road and he's coming to Minnesota!

The A Quiet Celebration Tour will support Simon's latest album, Seven Psalms, which came out in 2023.

Three of those tour stops will come at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis.

Simon will take the stage Sunday, April 20; Tuesday, April 22; and Wednesday, April 23.

Tickets go on sale Friday (February 21 at 10:00 AM.

Simon, who turns 84 in October, was born in New, New Jersey and met Art Garfunkel when they were 11 years old, performing together in a production of Alice in Wonderland for their sixth-grade graduation. The two began singing together at the age of 13.

In early 1964, Simon and Garfunkel, then known as 'Tom & Jerry', auditioned for Clive Davis of Columbia Records, who signed them to produce an album. The record company decided to change the name of the act to Simon & Garfunkel.

Over the next five years, the duo released five studio albums, two of which (Bookends - 1968, Bridge over Troubled Water - 1970) hit #1 on the Billboard chart. They also had a trio of #1 singles during that time ('The Sound of Silence' - 1965, 'Mrs. Robinson' - 1968 , 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' - 1970)

Despite their success, Simon & Garfunkel decided to part company in 1970, but have had a number of reunion concerts since, including a 1981 show in New York City's Central Park, which drew a crowd of half-a-million people and resulted in the live album The Concert in Central Park.
