When it comes to superheroes, most of the nation still gravitates toward the 'Mount Rushmore' of comic book legends - Batman, Superman, Hulk, and Supergirl.

But in the actual Mount Rushmore State, we have a different favorite.

Dish Network looked at recent Google search data and found that South Dakota is the only state in America that is all about Star-Lord, played by actor Chris Pratt in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers movies.

Elsewhere five characters still rule.

Superman is the number-one most-searched-for superhero in eight states (Alabama, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Texas), while seven states went for Hulk (Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and South Carolina) and Supergirl (Arkansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Dakota, and Vermont), with five each for Batman (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin) and Thor (Nevada, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming).

When it comes to the battle for overall comic book supremacy, there's been a change at the top.

DC Comics have overtaken Marvel as the number-one most preferred brand.

31 states went with DC, while 15 (including South Dakota) stuck with Marvel. Meanwhile, in Alaska, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Kentucky, the choice was just too hard.
