Minnesota Vikings Player Nominated for an Incredible Honor
A Minnesota Vikings player has been nominated for an awesome honor for the work he's done for his team and also for the work he does for his community. In my opinion, he's definitely deserving of this award and I'd think many people will agree.
Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award
Every year there's a recipient of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award at the end of the season. Players who are nominated for the award are nominated because they exhibit excellence on and off the field. The winner of the award is announced the evening before the Super Bowl.
WCCO says that the players who are nominated (32 players are nominated in total) get $40,000 to donate to a charity of their choice. The person who wins the award gets $250,000 donated to the charity of their choice.
Minnesota Vikings Man of the Year
Because he was nominated for the NFL Man of the Year Award that officially makes him the Vikings Man of the Year. That person is Adam Thielen! Congratulations to him and also his wife, Caitlin. Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf says, "'Adam and Caitlin's commitment and willingness to give back and serve Minnesotans through the Thielen Foundation is truly inspiring'".
In response to his nomination, Adam Thielen said, "'It's such an honor ... It's just so cool to have [my peers and teammates] vote me for this award and not only me but also my wife, our foundation and what we're trying to do.'"
What is the Thielen Foundation?
In case you aren't familiar, the Thielen Foundation helps youth in need and "aims to create programs that serve, educate and inspire individuals so they’re equipped and empowered to reach their full potential in life."
