Minnesota ‘Moose on the Loose’ Has 20,000+ Facebook Followers

It's not unusual for a celebrity to have a Facebook following of more than 20,000 people. In fact, that's chump change compared to the likes of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (168 million followers). Heck, even the fictional character Mr. Bean has 140 million Facebook fans.

But what if more than 20,000 people from across the globe aren't following a famous athlete or TV character, but a random wild animal?

That's exactly what's happening right now for one Minnesota moose.

He's been nicknamed 'Rutt' and he's been spotted roaming around the North Star State now for more than five years.

'Rutt' even has his own Facebook page - Central MN Moose on the Loose, which has now surpassed 20,000 followers (21,797 to be exact), with a whopping 6,000 new members just this week.

The page is full of photos and videos of 'Rutt' out and about.

There have even been reports of a moose matching 'Rutt's' description wandering as far as South Dakota, Iowa, and North Dakota.

The most recent 'Rutt' sighting came just north of Staples, Minnesota last night (November 21).
