The Lizard King now has a real reptile named in his honor. But Barbaturex Morrisoni is even more dead than Jim Morrison -- the species last walked the earth 40-million years ago.

This was quite an impressive creature. Spanning six feet from nose to tail and weighing -- based on fossilized evidence -- about 60 pounds, this big boy rocks! Well, let's couch that, considering that music, or even people were not around in his time.

University of Nebraska at Lincoln researcher Jason Head led the team investigating the remains, discovered in Myanmar (formerly Burma). A Doors fan himself, he coined the name Barbaturex Morrisoni based on its head's beard-like bottom and Morrison's nickname and fascination with the species.
