Although Joe Walsh is probably going to be pretty busy next year with the Eagles' proposed world tour, he's eager to squeeze some solo work in between band commitments. Walsh has made no secret that's he's been recording this year with some heavy hitters, so was asked if he'll be releasing a new studio set in 2014: "Yeah, I am. I don't know the timeline on it. I went in with some of my favorite people for a week and I'll say loosely started a blues album. People like Dr. John and Jim Keltner and Robert Randolph and Keb' Mo' -- and Tal (Wilkenfeld), who's Jeff Beck's bass player; she's like 23 and amazing. So we went in and just kind of went through some real obscure R&B and some blues songs."

Walsh says that for the most part, barring some studio tweaking, the album is essentially done: "I got that in the can -- I got about 12 tracks. And it's really good. And my thought was maybe go out and play jazz festivals in Europe -- with that lineup -- when the album comes out. So, that's loosely a concept for the next Joe Walsh thing."
