Janis Joplin will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to Vintage Vinyl News. The ceremony will take place on November 4th at 11:30 a.m. PST, with Kris Kristofferson -- who wrote "Me And Bobby McGee," record label exec Clive Davis -- who signed Joplin along with Big Brother & The Holding Company to Columbia Records, and Joplin's siblings, Michael and Laura, on-hand to speak and perform in Joplin's honor. Janis Joplin's star will be placed at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard.

Ana Martiz, producer for the Walk of Fame, said, "Janis Joplin is an iconic figure and her songs will always be remembered by her fans around the world. We are excited to add a unique tribute to Janis by her friend Kris Kristofferson who will perform a special acoustic version of 'Me And Bobby McGee,' which Janis famously recorded in 1970 yet was released posthumously in 1971, scoring Joplin a number one hit."
