In this ever-changing world of college athletics, one thing that still means something is how your recruiting class stacks up to the rest of the country. Sure, you still have to coach the athletes and hope they play to their potential, but most coaches would rather work with an elite recruiting class than not. One Iowa college is off to a great start for the class of 2025. In fact, they're ranked #1 in all of college basketball!

The Iowa school that is currently ranked #1 is Iowa State. According to Heartland College Sports, coach TJ Otzelberger and the Cyclones have some impressive recruits on their way to Ames, Iowa. ISU has three commitments for its 2025 class, but those players are so highly thought of, that they have the Cyclones ranked #1, ahead of schools like Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and South Carolina.

Heartland College Sports reports that Iowa State has landed three big-name prospects for 2025. Three-star point guard Mecari Moore and three-star forward Xzavion Mitchell committed in March. But the headline player was four-star guard  Jamarion Batemon. He chose the Cyclones over the likes of Clemson, Illinois, Marquette, and more.

As you can see from the above list, the University of Northern Iowa Panthers are also on the list coming in at #23. That's a big accomplishment for the Gateway Conference school in Cedar Falls. The only state college from Iowa missing is the University of Iowa. Hey Fran McCaffery...what gives?
