Waterville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The LeSueur County Sheriff's Office says it does not appear that the weather was a factor in the fatal crash late Tuesday afternoon near Waterville and Elysian.

According to Sheriff Brett Mason, the deadly crash was reported just after 5:30 PM by a 911 caller who stated there had been a traffic crash near a home on Tetonka Lake Road. The deputies dispatched to investigate found a car had left the roadway, traveled through the ditch, and then crashed into a large tree.

The Sheriff noted that there was no evidence of impairment by the driver. He also indicated the road surface was free of snow when the fatal incident occurred. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
