LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN! The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis is presenting a midnight screening (the best time for a screening) of the 1975 cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show on May 25th.
Doors open at 11:30pm with the show to start promptly at midnight. Tickets are just $10 in advance and $15 at the door, plus taxes and fees. It's an 18+ showing.
Rocky Horror Picture Show Midnight Screening Plus Shadowcast Production
The movie will feature a shadowcast production by Transvestite Soup. A shadowcast production features real-life actors performing (usually lip syncing) the movie while it plays behind them.
The night is described as an "interactive midnight movie experience, featuring a live shadow cast, that is the bane of existence for The Parkway's clean-up crew". And they'll all be Tim Curry (Dr. Frank-N-Furter)! Tickets are available for purchase now!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The movie is an independent musical/horror/comedy film released in 1975 that's based on the musical stage production The Rocky Horror Show, which debuted in 1973.
The initial release of the film was not well-received. It found immortality as a midnight movie where audiences would dress-up as characters in the movie and participate during the screening.
It is now considered one of the greatest musical films of all time, and has been preserved by the Library of Congress.
