Lake Okabena Comes Alive This June With The Worthington Regatta Music & Festival
If this stretch of unseasonably warm February weather has you daydreaming about flip-flops, lake breezes, and not having to scrape your windshield at dawn, consider this news your official sneak peek at summer fun. The Worthington Windsurfing Regatta & Music Festival is coming back, and it’s bringing enough music and lakeside energy to make Old Man Winter start packing his bags early.
According to Dakota News Now, this year’s festival is set for Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13, along the scenic shores of Lake Okabena in Worthington, Minnesota. And if you’ve never been, picture this: colorful sails skimming across the water, live music drifting through the air, food vendors cooking up irresistible aromas, and a crowd that’s fully committed to having a great time.
The live music lineup is shaping up to be a real crowd-pleaser. Friday night features guitarist Tommy Vote at 7:00 PM, along with The Crown Jewels: A Tribute to Queen, beginning at 9:00 PM. There's a good chance you may find yourself belting out “Bohemian Rhapsody” with strangers if you're not careful. Saturday’s stage schedule kicks off with The Indecisions at 5:00 PM, followed by Chase McDaniel at 7:30 PM, and Redferrin closing things out at 9:30 PM with a high-energy finale.

New this year is the officially sanctioned Shoreline Jam, inspired by a longtime festival tradition. In past years, musicians would casually gather along the lake and start impromptu jam sessions that became must-see moments. Festival organizers loved the spontaneous magic so much they decided to make it an official part of the celebration, giving local artists a chance to shine and festivalgoers even more music to enjoy.
