
What You Can And Can’t Bring To The Sioux Falls Airshow
The countdown is on for the 2026 Sioux Falls Airshow, Power On The Prairie, and if you're planning on attending, it's important to know what you can and can't bring through the gates.
The 2026 Sioux Falls Airshow will take place on July 18 and 19 at the South Dakota Air National Guard (Joe Foss Field, 1201 W Algonquin St). General admission is completely free, with the gates open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Airshow organizers want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience, so security screenings will be in place at all entrances.
Arriving prepared can help you get inside faster and spend more time enjoying the action overhead.
What You Can Bring In
• Folding chairs and blankets
• Clear bags
• Diaper bags, with a child present
• Strollers and collapsible wagons
• Cameras and camcorders
• Personal umbrellas and sunscreen
• Service animals
All permitted items are subject to inspection at entry.
What You Can't Bring In
• Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, pepper spray, and tasers
• Drones or UAVs
• Large tents, canopies, or shade structures
• Alcoholic beverages from outside the event
• Glass containers
• Grills, cooking equipment, or open flames
• Laser pointers and large air horns
• Bikes, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades inside the gate
• Pets, except for service animals
Bag Policy
The airshow requires clear bags only, with a recommended maximum size of 12” x 6” x 12” or smaller. Small clutch purses under 6.5” x 4.5” are allowed, and diaper bags are permitted when accompanied by an infant or child. Every bag will be inspected before entry.
Drone & Airspace Policy
Drones are strictly prohibited anywhere within the airshow perimeter. The FAA will enforce temporary flight restrictions, and unauthorized drone use may result in fines, confiscation, and other penalties.
