Sioux Falls Veterans Parkway Road Work Begins
Road work is set to begin along Veterans Parkway in Sioux Falls.
Construction starts Wednesday, April 22.
The project will impact southbound traffic between 26th Street and 41st Street as crews begin necessary repairs to improve roadway conditions.
During this phase of construction, the outside southbound lane and shoulder will be closed to allow for concrete pavement work as well as curb and gutter repairs.
While these closures may affect traffic flow, at least one southbound lane will remain open at all times to help minimize disruptions for daily commuters.
Drivers should be aware that the exact location of lane closures will shift periodically over the coming weeks as work progresses through the corridor.
Despite the ongoing construction, access to nearby businesses, residential areas, and side streets will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
The construction effort is expected to continue through July 2026, with crews working to complete upgrades that will enhance both safety and driving conditions along this busy stretch of Veterans Parkway.
Motorists traveling in the area are encouraged to use caution, reduce speeds, and remain alert for workers and changing traffic patterns.
Those looking to avoid potential delays may also want to consider alternate routes during peak travel times.
