Sioux Falls Road Work Will Impact Traffic on 57th and 69th Streets This Week
Drivers in Sioux Falls should plan for a few slowdowns as several road projects will temporarily close lanes on West 57th Street, East 57th Street, and East 69th Street.
The first closure begins at 8:30 a.m. Thursday on West 57th Street, where the outside westbound lane between Galway Avenue and Grinnell Avenue will be closed.
Crews with Dave's Construction will be locating a gas line in the area. The work is expected to wrap up by the end of the day on Friday, July 10, weather permitting.
A second project will affect East 69th Street, where the outside westbound lane between Tomar Road and Inverness Drive will be closed for sidewalk repairs. City officials expect that work to take approximately two days to complete.
A third lane closure will also begin Thursday on East 57th Street. The outside eastbound lane between Glenview Road and Ash Grove Avenue will be closed while crews complete additional sidewalk repairs.
Like the work on East 69th Street, this project is expected to last about two days, depending on the weather.
Motorists traveling through any of these construction zones are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time. If possible, drivers may want to consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
