Sioux Falls Big Diverging Diamond Interchange Flyby Update
Big progress is being made on one of the busiest intersections in the whole state of South Dakota. Check it out in this new drone video.
Phase three construction of the 41st Street Diverging Diamond Interchange project has begun.
Construction began on the 41st Street & I-29 DDI in 2022 and is anticipated to be completed this summer.
This summer construction crews will concentrate their efforts on finalizing the project, cleaning up the site, and transforming the intersection into a fully operational Diverging Diamond Interchange.
After completing the bridge work, they will shift their focus to constructing the initial island near the southbound off-ramp.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and reduce their speed while traversing the construction zone.
Traffic control measures will be implemented to guide drivers around any closures.
Pedestrian traffic along 41st Street in this area will be rerouted to 26th Street or 49th Street.
Currently, the far east lane of Shirley Avenue from 41st Street to West Shirley Place is closed around April 25th, 2024 to allow crews to conduct maintenance work and install sidewalks in that area.
