Potentially Deadly Salad Being Recalled in Minnesota
The Dole Company recently recalled a number of Dole brand and private label salad kits due to a possible listeria cross-contamination issue at one of their processing facilities.
This includes salad kits that were sold in Minnesota.
Listeria is a very serious food-borne illness that can be deadly if contracted by young children, people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, and the elderly.
Even for healthy people the symptoms of Listeria aren't pleasant. It can cause high fever, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, severe headaches, and stiffness.
The products involved include salad kits from Dole, President's Choice, and Marketside.
This is the complete list of salad kits involved:
- Dole Chopped Kit Avocado Ranch
- Dole Premium Kit Southwest Salad
- Dole Cajun Ranch Chopped Kit
- Dole Premium Kit Endless Summer
- Dole Supreme Kit Southwest Salad
- President's Choice Southwest Salad Kit
- Marketside Chopped Salad Kit Bacon Ranch Crunch
- Dole Chop Chop Kit Avocado Ranch
Consumers are advised to throw the products away immediately. For more information and any questions you might have, call Dole's Consumer Response Center at 800-356-3111, Monday-Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Time.
