16-Year-Old Minnesota Singer Stuns Judges on ‘The Voice’
When you're 16-years-old, you're just learning how to drive or figuring out what career you're interested in. For one Lake Benton, Minnesota teenager, she did something pretty extraordinary. She just sang her heart out for one of television's biggest singing competitions.
Minnesota native Joslynn Rose took her astonishing singing talents to NBC's The Voice. She not only performed in front of a live audience and millions more on national television, but also four major artists including John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and the new coach on The Voice Reba McEntire.
Joslynn wowed the judges during the season premiere of NBC's The Voice. During her Blind Auditions, Joslynn sang a beautiful rendition of "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence.
You would think Joslynn would be incredibly nervous performing on such a big stage. Not this up-and-coming superstar! She was a natural and connected with the audience.
Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and "The Queen" Reba McEntire turned their chairs towards the end of Joslynn's performance. Niall turned his chair as he said to his fellow coaches, "It's so good!" They really were just shocked and impressed by her mature voice. Truly, they were enjoying her audition! Reba even gave Joslynn a standing ovation!
The Lake Benton resident performance stunned Gwen. Gwen Stefani asked, "What is in the water?!" She just fell in love with not only Joslynn's voice but also her personality. Reba called her an "old soul."
All three coaches who turned their chairs made their pitch to get Joslynn to join their team. In the end, Joslynn picked Team Gwen!
"I can't believe I got Joslynn! She is very dynamic and stylistic. I love to work with young artists; Joslynn is that girl and now my dreams are coming true."
You can watch Joslynn's journey on Season 24 of NBC's The Voice every Monday and Tuesday on KDLT at 7 PM. We're rooting for you, Joslynn!
