Hometown Glow at JazzFest 2014

If you ask the guys from Hometown Glow what they play, they simply reply "music". I think there's a couple of reasons they say that. One is to not be confined to a specific genre, and another is simply because their musical influences are so broad. There are elements of blues, jazz, funk, soul and rock in all they do.

Hometown Glow is Greyson Schulz on guitar and vocals, Seth Curl on drums, Chris Voegele on bass and Alexander Olsen on keyboards. The band reformed about a year ago in time to play the first Downtown Riverfest and since then, there have been a number of high profile gigs including JazzFest in July.

Schulz and Voegele stopped by my tent the afternoon before they played to talk music, influences and more. Schulz also played an original for us in the park that afternoon. Check out the video interview and song below and plan to join us at the 2nd annual Downtown Riverfest August 16th. Two members of Hometown Glow will be performing that evening. Schulz will do a solo acoustic set while Olsen will play with another of his bands, Main Avenue Warehouse.
