Hadden Sayers Band Live [VIDEOS]
The Hadden Sayers Band played Sioux Falls Orpheum Theatre Saturday night as part of Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society's Winter Concert Series (January 19) . Before heading downtown, Hadden, Tony and Dave stopped by the B102.7 studios to talk with Crash and perform a couple of songs live on the air.
Sayers is originally from Texas but has made Ohio his home for the past seven years. After the critical acclaim of 2011's "Hard Dollar" CD which included the Blues Music Award nominated song Back To The Blues (a song he sings with sometimes bandmate Ruthie Foster) Sayers saw bookings and travel go way up. So much so that next month's "Rolling Soul" CD was written in vans, trains, planes, hotels...wherever he could jot down some notes.
The show was fantastic, showing off Sayers vocal range and really highlighting his stellar band. The setlist was predominantly from the Hard Dollar and Rolling Soul CD's, though he did throw in a few earlier songs and even closed the night with a cover of Prince's "Purple Rain". If you didn't know his name before, make sure you get to know it.
The interview is posted in two videos. Part 1 is the bulk of the interview plus "Back To The Blues". The second video includes a song from the new album "Rolling Soul" due out February 26, 2013 called Something Wrong In The World Tonight.
