One of the biggest questions regarding a Guns N' Roses reunion is, Which drummer, Steven Adler or Matt Sorum, would the band use if the golden-era lineup ever got back together? If it were up to the drummers, they would both occupy the spot.

Speaking to Eddie Trunk's SiriusXM radio show, Adler revealed that he and Sorum have already discussed the matter. "Matt wouldn't do it," he said. "I see Matt practically every Monday night, and we talked about it. He wouldn't do it unless I was a part of it. And I said, 'Well, dude, I would do it without you.' And he said, 'But you're the original guy. You're the sound of GNR. I'm not. So it's different.' And I said, 'If I did it, if Axl [Rose] wanted to play the [Use Your] Illusion songs, I would have you right next to me. You come up, and I'll either take the throne or sit where I sit.' ... Sort of like [the way we did it] at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They didn't show that part on TV, I don't think, but [Matt] played 'Brownstone,' and then I came up and played 'Sweet Child' and 'Paradise City.'"

Adler said that he once had issues with Sorum for replacing him in 1990, but all of that is water under the bridge these days. "He didn't do nothing," Adler said. "I had resentments with him, but I talked with him and I worked everything out. Everything. I would love to share a tour bus with him."

Of course, all talk of a full Guns N' Roses reunion is purely hypothetical. As much as Adler, Sorum and other former members may side with the fans on wanting to see it happen, the cards are held by Rose, who has repeatedly rejected any attempt to make it happen, most famously before the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Rose wrote an open letter saying that he was skipping the ceremony and that it was time to "let sleeping dogs lie or lying dogs sleep or whatever. Time to move on. People get divorced. Life doesn’t owe you your own personal happy ending especially at another’s, or in this case several others’, expense."
