It's not conjecture to say that Scottie Scheffler is on top of the world. After bursting onto the scene this season in the PGA Tour, the 25 year old took home his first major title this weekend at the sports most hallowed course.

Scheffler, who hails from the Dallas, Texas area, finished at 10 under par to win the Masters Tournament and become one of the lucky few to own an elusive green jacket.

Scheffler won the tournament by a full three strokes over veteran Rory McIlroy, and was in control of the top spot over the entire weekend.

Scheffler turned pro in 2018,  and recently won his first tournament on tour, and now has claimed Augusta as well. Per pbs.org:

Two months after Scheffler finally broke through for his first PGA Tour victory, he capped off a most incredible 56-day stretch by making his fourth win the biggest of them all, the Masters by three shots over Rory McIlroy for his first major.

The article goes on to say that his rapid ascension to the pinnacle of the sport shouldn't have been such a surprise:

Everyone should have seen this coming. He won the Phoenix Open in a playoff on Super Bowl Sunday. He followed that with a comeback win at Bay Hill to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He rose to No. 1 in the world by winning the Match Play two weeks ago in Texas.

And now this.

Scheffler, who finished at 10-under 278, won $2.7 million from the $15 million prize fund. That brings his total to $8,872,200 over his last six starts.

It's now win number four in the young career of Scottie Scheffler. Here's a bit of his bio from masters.com:

Growing up in Dallas, Scheffler was mentored at Royal Oaks by Justin Leonard and Ryan Palmer, and much of his early resume mirrors that of his friend Jordan Spieth: U.S. Junior Amateur winner, University of Texas star, PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

As mentioned several times throughout the broadcast on Sunday, Scheffler graduated from a high school that isn't short on top-tier talent. Scheffler joins World Champion Baseball pitcher Clayton Kershaw, as well as Super Bowl Champion Quarterback Matthew Stafford as Highland Park High School alumni to reach the top of their respective sport.
