Among the great many losses ascribed to the passing of comedy legend Garry Shandling, the comedian’s revered HBO series The Larry Sanders Show had been absent from streaming availability on its home network. Shortly before his death however, Shandling completed negotiations to return The Larry Sanders Show to HBO’s library, according to reports.

Per The Wrap, the 1992-1998 comedy will appear on the network and its streaming services, following Shandling as a talk-show host surrounded by an undermining staff. The support cast consisted of such impressive names the likes of Rip Torn, Arrested Development and Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor, along with Janeane Garofalo, Jeremy Piven and Bob Odenkirk.

Where previously The Larry Sanders Show had aired at a time before HBO secured longterm rights (the series had most recently been streaming on Crackle), Sony Pictures Television chairman Steve Mosko says of the return:

I loved Garry. We were fulfilling his wishes to see the show move to HBO.

The series is also available on DVD and iTunes, while it remains unclear exactly when The Larry Sanders Show will appear on HBO platforms. Check out a few clips below, while we remember Shandling.
