First Official Sturgis Rally Day Claims 1 Life, Injures 10

A motorcycle crash claimed 1 life on the opening day of the Sturgis motorcycle rally Monday. Another 10 were injured in separate incidents on the winding roads withing the Black Hills.

Most of the injury crashes were failure to navigate the hairpin turns. However, two of the accidents were the result of a deer collisions.

Out of all the reported accidents, two were wearing helmets.
