Doris Roberts, Star of ‘Everybody Loves Raymond,’ Dies at 90
Sad news for fans of veteran actor and multiple Emmy-winner Doris Roberts, as the iconic Everybody Loves Raymond star has passed away. Apart from her famed role as Ray’s mother Marie Barone, Roberts is also remembered for her work on Broadway.
TMZ confirmed Roberts’ passing Sunday in Los Angeles, while no official cause of death has yet been released. The actress is survived survived by her son, Michael Cannata Jr., born by first husband, while second husband William Goyen previously died in 1983.
In addition to winning out among 100 actors for the role of titular Everybody Loves Raymond mother Marie, Roberts appeared in such sitcoms as Full House and Step By Step, as well as notable films like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Grandma’s Boy. Roberts won four Emmys for her Everybody Loves Raymond character, as well as a Screen Actors Guild award.
