Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen to Tour With a New Solo Band
Steely Dan co-founder Donald Fagen will hit the road this summer with a new group called the Nightflyers. Dates begin with a two-night stand in August at Port Chester, N.Y., and continue through more than 20 U.S. cities before wrapping up in September in San Francisco. Dates in Japan will follow.
You can see a complete list of announced stops below. Fagen promises a set list filled with Steely Dan hits and songs from his solo albums, plus "some swell surprises," according to a press release announcing the tour. Tickets go on sale April 28.
The Nightflyers -- which also features Connor Kennedy (guitar, vocals), Lee Falco (drums, vocals), Brandon Morrison (bass, vocals) and Will Bryant (keyboards, vocals) -- have been prepping for the tour by playing smaller venues around New York's Hudson River Valley. Fagen's 1982 solo debut was titled The Nightfly, and began a trilogy of themed albums.
Steely Dan, which also features Walter Becker, toured last year with Steve Winwood. Fagen and Becker will reform again this summer when Steely Dan appear as part of the Classic East and Classic West festivals.
