Dio Cancer Fund Starts Skin Cancer Campaign

The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund will launch a new cancer awareness campaign this weekend in Detroit at the Orion Music and More Festival.

The Check Yourself campaign will try to educate festival-goers about the dangers of skin cancer this summer. Wendy Dio and the fund's medical director Dr. Sandeep Kapoor will pass out sunscreen from the Dio Cancer Fund booth in an effort to increase awareness of skin cancer and prevention.

Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for adults 25 to 29 years old and the second-most common form of cancer for adolescents and young adults 15 to 29 years old.
