Not satisfied with just one state fair stop in our neck of the woods this summer, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Def Leppard will now headline two.

Already scheduled for Thursday, August 14 at the Iowa State Fair, the legendary British  band has now added an appearance at the Minnesota State Fair, Tuesday, August 26.

Tickets for the Des Moines show are already on sale.

Tickets for the St. Paul show go on sale to the general public Friday (February 14) at 10:00 AM.

The band is actually doing a state fair trifecta in 2025. They'll also be appearing at the Illinois State Fair, August 16.

Def Leppard got their start in Sheffield, England in 1977 when the band Atomic Mass added 18-year-old lead singer Joe Elliott to its lineup. It was Elliott who suggested the band change its name to Def Leppard.

The group released their debut album, On Through the Night, in 1980.

From 1983 to 1992, Def Leppard was the biggest act in rock with three blockbuster albums - Pyromania (#2 - 1983), Hysteria (#1 -1987), and Adrenalize (#1 - 1992).

During that time, the band also had four Top Ten singles, 'Pour Some Sugar on Me' (#2), 'Hysteria' (#10), 'Armageddon It' (#3), 'Love Bites' (#1).

Since 1992, the band has consisted of Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Allen (drums), Phil Collen (guitar, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitar, backing vocals).

Def Leppard has 12 studio albums to their credit and have sold over 100 million records worldwide.

They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.

In 2017, I interviewed guitarist Phil Collen prior to Def Leppard's tour stop in Sioux Falls.
