The classic rock world is mourning the loss of iconic singer Eddie Money who passed away at the age of 70 on Friday the 13th.

His family issued a statement that reads: “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”

Recently, the "Two Tickets to paradise" singer was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer.

Money's last concert in the area was at Grand Falls Casino on Friday, February 15, 2019.

Eddie Money was born Edward Joseph Mahoney on March 21, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York and released 11 albums throughout his career.
